Stephen Skog Obituary
November 2, 1950 - April 28, 2025
Stephen Chantry Skog passed away on April 28, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 74.
Born on November 2, 1950, in Fremont, Nebraska, Stephen was the son of William and Lois Skog. He attended schools in Bellevue and Omaha before earning a degree in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota in 1972.
Following graduation, Stephen returned to Bellevue to assist his parents in operating the family business, The Bellevue Big Store. In 1985, he became President of The Big Store, Inc., managing the business alongside Lois until its closure in 1995. That same year, Stephen pursued further education and earned a Master's Degree in Finance from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He went on to work for various businesses in the Omaha area until retirement.
Stephen is survived by two children: Corey Skog of North Carolina and his family, and Greta Baker-Skog of Omaha, Nebraska and her family. He is also survived by two brothers and their families: Jeffery Skog of Omaha, Nebraska, and Paul Skog of Evanston, Wyoming.
Internment of Ashes services are scheduled for May 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha, NE.
Stephen's life reflected a commitment to family enterprise and lifelong learning. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
