Wendy, I was very saddened to hear of Tom's sudden illness and his untimely passing. Although I did not have the fortune of meeting him, I know that through you he was a terrific person. The love you shared and wrote on Caring Bridge let me know what a wonderful relationship you both had and what a wonderful person Tom truly was.

Wendy

People keep calling me and telling me how sorry they are that I lost my husband. I let them know that I appreciate their thoughts, but that I wasn't married to Tom Welch. I had the only honor of sharing his name, spending time with you and him while on vacation, and knowing you. No words can express how I feel or say anything that can take away the pain and sorrow of our loss. So I hope you know how much you and Tom are loved. He was one of the best. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Dear Wendy, Megan and Welch family,
Although Tom only knew us through our children, Dave and Lori we looked upon their friends as an extension of our family. We are so so sorry of your loss and hope that you will keep all the good memories with you to sustain you through this most difficult time.
We send our love and prayers to you all.
God Bless!

Wendy and Tom's family: I am stunned and devastated to hear about Tom. We went to Westside together and he was a dear friend. I'm sure that the attendance at his memorial service will be an indicator of what a very special and truly devoted friend he was to so many. I am presently out of the country and won't be able to be there, however my most sincere condolences go out to all of you...this is a big loss for everyone who knew him. The only way to make sense of this is to celebrate his life as much as we can now and in the future.
Most sincerely, Jenny Hauser-Nasiell

Wendy and family...you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Wendy,

For the last several days I have been trying to put the right words together to tell you how sorry and sad we are for you and your families. I have decided that the words themselves really don’t matter but the love that we send to you from our hearts and through prayer hopefully can give some slight comfort. As others have said Tom was one of a kind and your courage and strength have been a true inspiration.

With our deepest sympathy,

Todd & Mary Mausbach

I'm so very sorry for your loss Wendy. I only wish I'd known you both in much more positive way. I am one of the nurses who cared for Tom and was just so sad when I heard of Tom's passing. He obviously had a fighting spirit and he can rest now. May your memories sustain you in the days to come.
