I have been away for so long and just recently learned about Troy's passing. Troy, from the moment I met him, made me smile. He had the greatest sense of Humor and really made me think. Sometimes, I had to think, "Now why exactly is that funny"? But that was the beauty of Troy's personality, he saw the value in things that most people would just over look. We had some pretty crazy times Troy, Eric and myself... and I will never forget him.

I would just like to thank everyone who shared their thoughts, prayers, and memories. I wish I could tell him that this is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life, and it is so impossibly hard to let go...Most of you only knew Troy a short time, but I knew Troy his whole life. No one will ever know the sweet & innocent child that has been lost, the way I did. Thank You All, Troy's Mom.

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your well wishes and condolences. Troy was my all for six years. I had the great privilege of sharing many memories, laughter, tears and overall I know Troy felt free to be himself around me. He was a very talented FX artist. He loved horror movies. Yet he was the most compassionate friend and lover any girl could ever ask for. I love him more than I can properly dictate with words. Troy would always tell me everyday I was sad or write in every card “I had never been in love before, I had never felt true acceptance. I had never cared about what tomorrow would bring until I met you. You are my Angel. I love you soooooo much!" To you Troy I say “ You are my Angel- You made me believe in love- You should me a brand new world I love you always and forever.” Rest in Peace my love

I knew Troy briefly as a teacher...A collegue and I took a special effects class from him this past winter so we could become more proficient at medical moulage. Please know that his techniques are being used not only to create dramatic film footage but to help emergency medical professionals learn life saving skills. His contribution to our knowledge is making a difference in the lives of others.

Troy was a great friend. I met him during a down time in my life, I was separated from my wife, but Troy wouldn't let me stay down long. He showed me the fun side of life, we did a lot, a lot I can't mention, haha, but the memories will last a life time. He was a brilliant, gifted guy, and he is greatly missed.

Whaley & Smith Family and Loved Ones:

My heart is with all of you. Troy and I had our ups and downs, but we remained friends through it all. I really miss him. He had a great sense of humor, an incredible personality, and more compassion than I could ever understand. He has aways been one of the most intelligent people I had ever known. He had a way of not making people feel stupid when he was talking to them. It seems silly, but, it was an amazing gift. Troy was an amazing person. My family and I loved him very much.
He will be forever missed and in our hearts forever.

My heart, love, and greatest sympathy go out to the family, friends, and Angel.

I wanted to tell the Whaley family how sorry I am to hear about their loss. Troy and I worked at the Mall together for many years. We had a lot of good laughs. He was the kind of guy that I could not see for months-- when I did, we picked up right where we left off. The thing that I always will remember about Troy is his grin.
I hope that Troy finds the peace he was looking for, meanwhile knowing we all love and miss him greatly.

Troy was a wonderful co-worker and I became near to him in the closing days of his life. We spent time at the college world series, talked about our concert resumes and love for scary flicks. In the short time I knew him, he made an immediate impact on me. Troy will forever be missed.

Today I feel like porcelain: cold, hard, and brittle,
and the muse who hovers 'bout my heart no penetrable place can find;
The birds have all been muffled, as before a storm,
and squirrels and all non-winged things creep in head-hung silence,
as at a loved one's wake;

Thank you Troy, for being in our lives.
