Virginia Dodson Obituary
November 13, 1935 - September 24, 2025
Virginia Ruth Dodson, age 89, of Omaha, Neb., was born November 13, 1935 to William Carl Weist and Grace Pauline Weist (Rhodes). She passed away peacefully at home on September 24, 2025.
Virginia married Mearl Dodson on April 12,1952. In 1955, they moved from Pennsylvania to Omaha where they raised six kids. She worked at Ashland Park School for many years where she loved helping the kids. She also worked for Bandis which was the concession stands for Aksarben where she loved the horse racing, hockey, basketball and concerts.
Virginia had many friends and family she loved. She is survived by her children, Bud Dodson (Mike Hast), Jerry Dodson, Gregory Dodson (Cecilia), Timothy Dodson (Shannon) and Diane Weihs. Virginia also had six siblings, Lily, Darlene, Cordella, Andrew, Dennis and William; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her best friend, Mary Ellen Flott; her husband, Mearl Dodson; her daughter, Caroline Willis; and her son-in-law, Harry Willis; both parents; and brother, William Weist.
VISITATION Monday, September 29, 2025 from 4 to 8 p.m. FUNERAL SERVICE Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 11 a.m., with BURIAL to follow. All services to occur at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
