Brian Dupree Obituary

CANASTOTA- Brian S. Dupree, 49, of Canal Road, passed away Thursday morning, February 23, 2017, in the comfort of his home after a two and a half year battle with a glioblastoma.
Born in Syracuse on October 14, 1967, he was the son of Betty Jo Ellingworth and Robert Brown. A resident of the Syracuse area until 2007 when he moved to Canastota, Brian was a graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
Brian was the owner and operator of Dupree's Pub and Eatery in Canastota and had retired from Macy's department store in 2013 where he had been a manager. He loved sailing and being in the outdoors and was an avid Syracuse University sports fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his music.
Surviving are: his significant other and caregiver, Rachelle Salm of Canastota; one daughter, Kaylynn J. Dupree of Redwood; one son, Aiden J. Dupree of Oneida; one granddaughter, Alyanna Dupree; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Jennifer Brown of Syracuse, Michelle and Francisco Selitte and Carri Brown, all of CT; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert Brown of Syracuse and Brant and Shelby Brown of Central Square; several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Saturday, March 4, 2017, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-2PM, prior to the funeral service. Contributions may be made to Sophie's Giving Tree, P.O.Box 116, Warners, NY 13164 or the Defeat GBM Research Collaborative at www.defeatgbm.org. I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's not fair. I miss our fun at Sweets on the Beach. You were always a great help and there for a good conversation. 2 plus years of fighting is a long time to fight thats for sure. Im so glad you had Rachelle by your side. Helping with your business and personal day to day im sure helped keep you going. We will miss you friend, til we meet again.
