CANASTOTA . . . David L. Allen, Sr., 69, of 218 N. Main Street, Canastota, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse, following a lengthy illness.He was born on July 14, 1951, in Gouverneur, NY, the son of the late Frank Castrine and Laura Allen.David spent his early years in Northern NY, attending Star Like High School. He later lived in Syracuse, Canastota, and Oneida, most of his life.He worked for Reliable Products in Oneida for 15 years, retiring in 2016. He had previously worked at Nye Ford in Oneida.David enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards, watching football, and spending time with his family.He married Delores M. Clark on April 11, 1991, in Wampsville.Surviving besides his wife, Delores, are: one son, David Allen, Jr. and his fiancé, CaseyJo Wilson, of Canastota; three daughters and a son-in-law, Tracy Allen of Massena, Michele and Jamie Meade of Canastota, and Heather Clark and her fiancé, James Mehserle, of Brockport; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Larry Mason of Oneida; one sister, Margaret Mason of Oneida; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. David was predeceased by three brothers, John Mason, Gene Mason, and Eugene Mason; and three sisters, Peggy Mason, Janet Mason, and Polly Mason.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Pastor Donna Chapman of the Whitelaw Presbyterian Church will officiate. There will be no calling hours.
