MUNNSVILLE . . .Frederick M. Lightaul, Jr., 51, of 4080 Pratts Road, Munnsville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 15, 2023.He was born on January 30, 1972, in Oswego, the son of Frederick M. Lightaul, Sr. and Sandra (Klossner) Christman.Fred spent his early years in Tupper Lake, attending school there. He later lived in Oneida and Canastota for many years. Fred recently lived in Munnsville.He has worked for Briggs and Stratton in Sherrill for the last 10 years, and was currently a Supervisor there.Fred enjoyed hunting, music, karaoke, fixing and riding anything with wheels, an engine, and a track, playing video games, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.Surviving are: six children, Alan and Cassie Lightaul of Cazenovia, Frederick M. Lightaul, III of Munnsville, Dakota Lightaul of Munnsville, Bonnie Lightaul of Oneida, Rylie Lightaul of New Jersey, and Courtney and Shawn Shafer of Troy, PA; three brothers, Wayne and Jennifer Lightaul of Oneida, Thomas Lightaul of Syracuse, and Mark Buchanan of Baldwinsville; three sisters, Wendy and Dennis 'DJ' Stevens, Jr. of Canastota, Julie and Todd Ryan of Homer, and Amanda and Mark Morton of Buffalo; nine grandchildren, Greyson Lightaul, Maveryck Lightaul, Kennadie Nasci, Thomas Hare, Zoey Cheesbro, Lorretta Cheesbro, Cory Harrington, Sandra Harrington, and Mahoney; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
