Michael J. Craver Sr.

1952 - 2012

VERONA -- Michael J. Craver Sr., 60, of Blackman Corners Road, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Oneida Healthcare Center.
He was born Feb. 25, 1952 in Oneida, a son of the late Glyenn and Evelyn Cullen Craver and received his education in local schools. Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
On Nov. 20, 1971, Michael married Barbara J. Kimball in Utica, and they celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2011. Michael was a truck driver for Riccell Enterprises in Syracuse.
Mike was a member of the Kelley Phillips Post No. 569 of Oriskany Falls. He loved camping, fishing, dancing, playing cards and going to the casino. He was a true family man who loved the time he spent with them and especially looked forward to Thanksgiving every year.
Surviving are his wife, Barb; his children, James Craver and Nicole Moot of Bouckville; Michele Craver and Ron Evans of Vernon; Michael Jr. and Carrie Craver of Holland Patent; daughter-in-law, Amy Craver of Solsville; sisters and brother-in-law, Dawn Rafte of Oneida; Sandi and Jim Jones of Wampsville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herb and Betsy Dixon of New Hampshire; Gerry and Carmen Dixon of Florida; 11 grandchildren; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are his sister-in-law and her husband, Midge and Ken Rifenburg of Sherburne, with whom he had a very special relationship. His sister, Glenda Rosetta, predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, followed by interment with military honors in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Merrillsville.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
