Rene lived two houses from us in Punta Gorda, FL. We saw him taking dinner, that he made, every day for an elderly neighbor. He was quiet about this and yet it was a great help to his neighbor. He helped other neighbors too by walking their dog. We don't think he ever said no, but instead was always there to help. We were shocked by his death and miss him very much. Rest in peace, Rene.

Will treasure the autographs that I got from you, as well as the old-timers' game in which you played. My only regret that is that I didn't get an autographed picture of you. Rest in peace:-) Ian McMaster Mississauga

Living in the heart of Rangers country I became a fan of the Sabres in 1973. And Rene became my favorite player on the Connection. Had a numbered 14 jersey for a few years I wore with pride. I hope that he and Rico have some fresh ice now to skate like the wind and re-visit old memories. Adams Division forever!

I offer my deepest sympathy to his wife, children and family in their time of grief -- may they have lasting, happy memories of Rene.

And may the Lord bless Rene and keep him and may His light shine upon him.

My sincere condolences to the Robert family. There will never be another french connection. To that I say Buffalo will never be the same without them. Life is ever changing as we all found out with the current pandemic. There are so many memories that are so memorable, the french connection being one of them. I will also leave a condolence for you from my friend Pete Scaccia who is gone now. He was a friend of Terry's and knew Rene Robert. Take care. Better day's ahead.......

Skilled and clutch performer, especially during Buffalo's gallant run in '74-'75. I remember watching the Stanley Cup Finals series when the Sabres played those rugged Flyers, and that "Fog at The Aud" game was a classic! Rest in peace, Rene.
