William Schroedel Obituary

PRATTS HOLLOW >> William (Bill) H. Schroedel, the son of the late William (Bill) J. Schroedel and Marika "Ricky" "Ahrens" Schroedel passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Faxton-St. Luke's Care Center.
Bill was born on March 9, 1943, and lived his entire life in Pratts Hollow. When in the service, Bill was stationed in Germany and took that opportunity to travel Europe. He also traveled the United States and South America in his early years. Bill loved skeet shooting and was involved competitively for many years. He also loved dogs and always had at least one until his health prevented him from caring for them properly. Like many people in the area, Bill worked for many years at the Oneida Limited until 2004 when the plant closure began.
Bill is survived by two cousins, Elizabeth Tennant Rockwell of Irondequoit, N.Y. and Kathryn Tennant Foster of Othello, Wash.
A graveside service with military honors will be held for Bill at the Stockbridge Cemetery, Stockbridge on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home, Madison.

I was very sorry to hear of "Bear's" passing this morning. I had just sent him an email last week after not hearing from him for awhile. We had many fun times at the local skeet & sporting clays shoots. we had fun together, we did business together...all good. Bill was ALWAYS a gentleman to me and my family. Fond memories. He will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. We have so many fond memories of a really great guy...from the times I remember him 'partying' with my older sister, Lou, up until the times we were able to party with him ourselves for many years! Never were able to beat him in cribbage, no matter how many games we played. RIP Schro.

Dear Kathy and Family, and Betty and Ron and family,so sorry you lost Billy. He was always so nice to me, a true gentle-man and gentle at heart. Billy loved his family so and it was clear to see he thought so much of you guys. It's always sad to lose a loved one, I am so glad you got to see him recently Kathy and I will be there with you on the day of the memorial service and interment with full military honors. God bless and keep you all.

Hi To All -
Living in VT, we won't be able to make the graveside service, but both Bill and I remember Bill fondly. I was in class with him, and Bill remembers him as 'being one of the good guys', where sports were concerned. We were both glad to see him at the last class reunion, and catch up a bit on the last 40+ years. He was always a good guy, and will be truly missed. Nancy & Bill Orcutt

Our Sincere Sympathy goes out to all the friends and classmates of Bill Schroedel. I never realized that he was just 4 days older than me. We have fond memories of Bill. We would see him in Wal Mart and have a good visit with him. He was at our last class reunion and we had a good visit with him. Rest I Peace Bill. See ya later. Edna and Howard Wilkinson
