Bernice Lord Obituary

Bernice Lou Lord, 91, of Bogart, died on April 6, 2014.
A native and lifelong resident of Oconee County, Bernice was a daughter of the late Lawton Thomas and Pearl Wall Lord. She was preceded in death by her sister, Vivian Marshall, and brothers, Bob Lord and Bill Lord. She was a member of Bogart Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), worked with several government agencies, and retired from the Athens Social Security Office.
Survivors include a brother, Henry C. (Rebecca) Lord, of Monroe; nieces, Mary Margaret Crosby, Robin Ayers, and Jane Townsend; and nephews, Howard Marshall Jr., Scott Lord, Tom Lord, Wayne Lord, and Tim Marshall.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, at Lord & Stephens West.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at the Lord & Stephens West Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the giver's choice.

Dear Lord family-I worked with Berniece from the time I signed on with Social Security in 1974 to 1976 when I was promoted and transferred. She made me feel welcome, and helped me out so much. She was a dear sweet lady, and I will miss her terribly. May God bless you with youe memories of her
