Carla Willis Obituary
A native of Macon County, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Leslie Jones and Mildred Stewart Jones Carver. Mrs. Willis lived in this area since 1983 and was a member of New Covenant Worship Center. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Rev. Howard Conine officiating.
Survivors include her husband, John V. Willis; three children, Britt Willis of Niceville, Fla., David Willis of Statham and April Doke of Colbert; three brothers, Donald Jones of Lafayette, Tenn., Danny Jones of Lawton, Okla. and Billy Jones of Summerville, Ga.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.

Mama,
It's been a little over one week since you went to be with the Lord. Today is no easier than last Monday when I received "the call". Please know that we love you more than words can express, and that your love, kindness and selflessness through the years have NOT gone unnoticed. When you had a daughter, you had a best friend for life. Part of me is gone with you, but I know part of you is still in my heart.

Words cannot describe how I feel about the loss of one of my best friends. I will miss emailing, going to lunch, and just enjoying being in Carla's . My heart goes out to each of you - especially John.
