George Hillsman Obituary
George was an Oconee County farmer and had retired from Southern Piedmont. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Marvin Hillsman Jr., and infant son, James Mark Hillsman.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Eleanor Clotfelter Hillsman; children, George Anderson "Andy" (Charlie) Hillsman Jr., Pamela Hillsman (Walt) Wood, and Charles Robert (Jane) Hillsman; grandchildren, Angela Wood (Jeremy) Hoffman, Matthew Preston Wood, Nicholas Robert Hillsman, Kasey Lynne Hillsman, and Julie Elizabeth Hillsman; great-granddaughter, Kamea Mae Hoffman; sister, Lula Hillsman Pace; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 15, at Lord & Stephens West.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, at the Lord & Stephens West Chapel, with George Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Johnson United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donald Wood, Dale Wood, Ted Holladay, Guy Lance, and grandsons, Nick Hillsman and Matt Wood.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the giver's choice.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home West, Bogart, is in charge of the arrangements.

I was so sad to hear about Mr. Hillsman passing! He was always a bright spot in my day when I worked at Oconee State Bank. My family and I always enjoyed the sausage he shared with us at Christmas time. My prayers are with his family and friends.

Charles, Andy and family,
OUr prayers will be with you and yours during this difficult time. I will miss Big Daddy terribly. I saw him often in town...He would always hug me and tell me how good it was to see me. He and I would talk about everything including our families, when we would see each other. It was always such a joy to see him. Loved him so much.
