Timothy Garrett Obituary
Oconee County - Dr. Timothy Harris Garrett, 64, of Oconee County, GA, passed from natural causes on April 26, 2021.
Born on August 18th, 1956, he was the son of L.G. Garrett Jr. and Melba Cooper Garrett of Oconee County.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Reneé Repass Garrett of Athens; his son Clay Garrett of Statham; his son and daughter-in-law Chase and Caroline Garrett of Raleigh, NC; and his daughter Libby Grace Garrett of Statham.
Tim graduated from Oconee County High School in 1974. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Agronomy & Soil Sciences. He then attended and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia's Physician's Assistant School in 1986 before returning and graduating from the Medical College of Georgia's School of Dentistry in 1991. Tim practiced dentistry in Athens for 29 years.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, often traveling the world to pursue his passions. He loved traveling with his family and reading classic literature.
The family will receive friends on Saturday May 1, from 4-6 PM at Lord & Stephens, West in Watkinsville. Tim will be laid to rest at Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday, May 2 at 1 PM, with Pastor Larry Davison officiating.

To the family: I was deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Garrett’s passing. My aunt referred me to him years ago and I must say, that was the best referral I’ve ever received. Dr. Garrett was a phenomenal dentist and a great person. You could tell that he genuinely cared about his patients and staff. I will continue to pray for you all during this difficult time. Dr Garrett was a great dentist! I had only been going there for about 8 years when he retired but I appreciated him so much! He let you decide when you were ready for certain procedures! He really cared! RIP Dr Garrett! I will be praying for you all!
