Herbert Gore Obituary

Mr. Herbert Gore, 77, of 3095 Pinckney Road (Wilksburg Community) passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at his home.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Zion Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Wendell Cain officiating. Burial followed in Gore's Family Cemetery.
Born in Chester County on Jan. 22, 1935, he was the son of the late Haskell Gore and Inez Thompson Gore. He was a member of Cross Road Baptist Church in Lockhart, where he served as a Deacon. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors are his wife, Queen Esther Carter Gore; five sons, Gunnery Sgt. (Ret.) Andre Gore, Col. (Ret.) Daryl (Edwina) Gore, Jeffrey Gore, Sgt. 1st Class Gregg (Frewoini) Gore and Jason Steven Gore; two brothers, Herman Gore and Calvin Gore; six sisters, Anna (Roosevelt) Smith, Geraldine Coleman, Emma (James) Gregory, Dorothy Worthy, Mildred Nelson and Haskell (Richard) Price; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one uncles, Charles (Florence) Gore; two aunts, Barbara Gore and Ernestine Gore; eight brothers-in-law; 11 sisters-in-law; and nieces and nepews.
