Eileen Simon Obituary
Eileen Inay Simon of Yorba Linda died on March 1, 2018. Eileen was born on a Navy base in Alameda, California on August 14, 1968. She was raised in Chino and lived in Yorba Linda, California since 1995.
Eileen attended Don Lugo High School in Chino and was a proud graduate of Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management.
Eileen is survived by her husband, John, her mother, Flordeliza, her sister and brother-in-law DeAnna and Steve Prescott, and four nephews. Eileen was particularly proud of her four nephews Stephen, Austin, Owen and Evan. Eileen took it upon herself to instill a strong sense of faith, work ethic, and education into her nephews.
Eileen retired as a Senior Vice President in Human Resources from Bank of America in 2013 after 22 years. In June 2013, Eileen joined the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim where she served as the Director of Human Resources. Eileen is perhaps best known for two incredible characteristics: 1) generosity and 2) dedication to her career. Eileen was extremely generous to her family, friends and those in need. In addition, Eileen truly loved and considered her colleagues at Bank of America and the Disney Company her family. As one of Eileen's colleagues put it so eloquently, "Eileen put the human back in human resources." She will be missed by all of those she touched.
Eileen was an active member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Yorba Linda where she served as a lector/reader at the 7:15am Sunday mass. Eileen was also a member of the Cal Poly Pomona School of Business Alumni Association.
A rosary will be held on Monday, March 12th at 7:30pm at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Yorba Linda. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Martin de Porres. Burial will follow reception at Holy Sepulcher in Orange, California.

I was telling a co-worker today about Eileen, and how she would check my energy every morning when we worked together for BofA in LA. "Not good enough vdL" she would say, and make me try again until I got it right. I was telling this co-worker that she reminded me of Eileen with the energy she brings every day. Eileen's energy, encouragement, and spirit live on in me even today.

I am glad she and John found each other and he has happy memories. I never knew her but it seems she has made lasting impressions on many people. RIP and may God bless her soul.

A few months ago before Sunday Mass, Eileen, whom I did not know at the time, greeted me like we had been friends forever. From that point on and every time I saw her, she greeted me with the warmest smile and was always so pleasant. Although our acquaintance was someone brief, I thank God that He granted me the honor of meeting one of his very special angels here on earth. She will be missed.

I only met Eileen once, but she made such a deep impression on me. I work with her husband John, and the occasion was the celebration of life for our dear friend Wayne Gilles. The gathering brought together a wide range of people who knew Wayne. Eileen took it upon her self to introduce his coworkers to his family. That allowed us to share stories, reminisce and console each other the best way we could. Such thought and compassion. It was a gift for all those there, and a simple example of how Eileen tried to make the world a better place. She was a beautiful person and will be greatly missed.
