Hi Dad, as the oldest son, I know your 2 children, Janet & Lawrie, both in heaven with you and Mom, and the youngest daughter, Joanne, living in Pa. are thinking of you and praying with you and Mom on your birthday. You are still so vivid in my memory and I thank you for you love, sacrifice, guidance, as I grew into adulthood. Nobody had a better father. Love, David

Hi Dad, 13 years ago today, Sue and I got a 6:00 am call from Kaiser that my Dad had passed away. I was just with you at 6 or 7 pm the day before. You had just been admitted. I was serving you dinner. You were out of sorts, but nothing close to passing. What a void you have created in the Robbins family. Jody reminded us all that today is the 13th year. Legacy has offered us all to write to you as we all did in 2008. I miss you very much. Thanks for all your sacrifice, you and Mom were wonderful parents. Lawrie and Janet are with you in heaven. Thank you Jody and Legacy David Robbins

To my dear dad,
It's still too hard for me to comprehend that you have left us, that I can no longer pick up the phone to talk to you, or plan a trip to California to see you. You were such a source of strength in my life for so long, and I just know that will never change.

You have left so many lessons for all of us to live by. You have loved us so much that we can now love each other by your example. You brought such humor into our times spent together, so we can now smile just thinking of your funny ways. You loved your wife with remarkable devotion, so we can now strive to do the same. You gave us beautiful music in our home, and now we all can pass that on to our children. You shouldered our problems and encouraged us to never give up, and now we are stronger and able to help our children do the same. Your generosity gave us all the chance to really be a family and connected us in ways that would never have been possible otherwise, and now the cousins will know the importance of family. You changed peoples lives because of your caring ways. How lucky were all of us to be touched by you, to have had a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, boss, and friend like you? So with all of that, I'm going to try to turn my sadness of losing you into the joy of having you in the first place. WE are the lucky ones that had you in our lives and were able to be touched by such a great man.

I love you, Dad. Thank you for being all that you were. Your life will continue to bless us all with the wonderful example you gave us as a man who loved his family above anything else. You've passed the torch. We will run with it!

I love you Dad. More than any words can ever say, I love you.

We want to keep our loved ones with us forever, and it hurts so much when forever comes too soon. The loss is so great. Suddenly acceptance is required. No permission asked.....
What if the spirit of your loved one has not left you, but has moved inside your heart to live, never to be forgotten? Once we love someone, that person becomes a part of us and remains with us for as long as our memory of them lasts.
Treasure your memories now. Try to focus on the time you did have. Let the blessings that you shared bathe you with love, encourage you with comfort, and inspire you to go on.

Uncle David and family, we have so many memories of Grandpa- the list too long to name. As long as we keep them alive in our hearts and share them with our children, he will never be gone. I love you all so much and even though the miles separate us, you are in my heart.

Hi Daddy. What do you say when something like this occurs? No amount of words can express the loss we all feel. For me, you were the man in my life that stayed constant with his love and his devotion to my well being. You were my rock, my hero, my friend. You gave all of us more to strive for in our own lives because of what we saw you accomplish in yours. The pride I feel in being your daughter far exceeds anything you can imagine. I know that Jody and Jerry would not be the people they are had it not been for your example. You were a father to them as well as a grandfather. I'll never forget when we lived with you in Portland, watching you come home after a long day at work to two little kids wanting their grandfather's attention. You sat with them on your lap every night to read stories and we all sat on the floor playing games together. How could anything surpass your love of family? Yes, You are MY HERO!!! I'll miss you Dad. You will forever be in my heart and your influence will live on and on through your grandchildren, and even your great grandchildren. Your story is epic and will be told for generations to come. I love you, Dad. You knew your place in our hearts and now that space will continure to grow as we relive all our memories of you and try to cope each day with your loss. I can't touch you, but I CAN feel you all around me. Thank you for being the Dad of all Dads. Thank God for giving you to me!

Grandpa, I'm back in Pennsylvania now and somehow this all seems more final. I know you're in a better place free from suffering and pain, but it's so hard on those left behind. I was privileged to be with Grandma this last week and to witness first hand the residents and staff who came to console her. They all had such fine things to say about you. It was an honor for me to walk into the dining room with her and have your friends offer their condolences. Although this is hard on her, I know she is in good hands. You watch over her, ok? I love you, Grandpa.

Grandpa, I cannot express how much of an impact you have had on my life. I could speak for hours of the memories i have laughing, singing, playing and learing with you. You are a great man. I pray to God that i can be to my family what you have been to yours. You will never be forget and I will make sure my son, Ryder, will know what you meant to your entire family. Can't wait to boat with you again!!

Hi Dad,It is Wednesday, the day after your funeral. I hope you were pleased with the service. Everyone that could be there were there. William and Michelle called several times wishing they could fly out, but you know the time and expense. They stayed in touch so they wouldn't be out of our plans and timing. Mom held up as well as expected , she is going to really miss you. Sue and I and Linda will take care of her.I have the ashes in my home so that I can talk to you when in need. I hope you will be with me always. Love David

Granddad instilled a work ethic in me. He also created a desire for me to know about different cultures. Because of my grandfather's travels all over the world, I received an appreciation for different cultures. Now, I can say that I have friends from many different cultures.
I have always looked at my granddad as the family celebrity!
I feel that my smile was inherited from granddad just as my mom's smile came from him.
He will never be forgotten. His legacy will always live on.

My grandfather was an insipration to me. Since I was a little child, I can recall the gifts he would send us from different countries. This peeked my interest in different cultures and far away lands.
I would hear of his ambitious nature and his many notable accomplishments. He inspired me to set goals and never stop trying to reach them.
I remember him as a down-to-earth and fun person who enjoyed and grabbed all he could from life. I always felt loved in his presence.
I will miss him so much, but I know that my mother has probably been missing him and deserves some time with her dad. God rest his soul.
My prayers go out to all of my family such as my Uncle David and Aunts Joanne, Sue, and Linda who have lost a parent, and my grandmother who just lost her other half.
We'll all meet again some day.
