I haven't seen you since second grade back in 2012, but upon hearing about your passing 5 years late, I wanted to come back and say how much fun you made mornings at Star View. I still remember the song, only because of you Jeff. If it weren't for your playing, that song, and possibly the whole school, would all be a distant memory to me. I'm sorry I couldn't say goodbye sooner. Thank you Jeff.

It broke my heart when I found out that you had passed away. You were the most amazing teacher and you had a huge influence on my life. I love how you always made the classroom our own and pushed us to our full potential with your tough love. You introduced us daily to new music. You encouraged us. You laughed with us. You scolded us. You praised us and cheered us on. You went so above and beyond that you even wrote the play we performed for school, and the school theme song. Often I find myself and Isaiah reminiscing about old times in your classroom. He still remembers the time you said you told him he did a good job. I am now in college studying to be a teacher. Every time we are told to think of our favorite or most influential teacher, I immediately think of you. I have written so many papers about you. I wish I could have told you that you are the reason I want to become a teacher. I believe that you know, but I still wish it could´ve been in person. I still can´t believe that you´re gone. I remember your favorite phrase was "I´m a teacher until a drop dead", and you really were. Even when you weren´t teaching at elementary school you were sharing knowledge and love with everyone around you. Rest In Peace, I hope to see you again. Thank you for everything.

Jeff Buchman was instrumental in organizing and perpetuating My Life as a musician beginning in 1972 at the city of St Louis, Missouri.
His agency, Bold Swimmer Productions, managed and booked my bands, Gabriel & Maelstrom as well as the bands, We the People, Parchment Farm, and Freeflight. He later moved on to manage and book Linda LaFlamme from the group it's a beautiful day. As the decade proceeded jeff continue to book and manage bands throughout the Midwest. Those of us who were managed by Jeff felt like we were just one big family. Many were the nights spent at Jeff's house smoking, drinking, and playing Risk till the wee hours.
His Rock festivals were an amazing 1st in St. Louis. In 1977 Jeff purchased and ran Steppin' Stone Studios in Fenton, Missouri. I was privileged to work there as one of his session musicians.

In 1983 Jeff relocated his business to California where I was there waiting for him.
He brought a talented artist with him by the name of Marvin Barnes. I was selected as the keyboard player of Marvin's back line and that continued my musical relationship with Mr. Buchman.

Following Jeff's retirement from teaching he conveyed one of his many unique ideas to me. He wanted to form a band who would write & perform songs articulating historical events while at the same time re-enacting them on stage. He felt that type of a program would be tailor-made for school assemblies.

Jeff Buchman was and is a tireless innovative spirit.
I used to tell him that he smoked too much. But that was just one symptom of his boundless Energy.

Rest in peace old friend. I'm right behind you.

I will always miss you. It sucks that I just found out about this a hour ago. Its heartbreaking. My prayers are with your wonderful wife and Micheal. My nephew goes to star view now and when I go to pick him up I used to ask about you, and where you were. I hope you weren't suffering. You were a very great man. Thank you for being a great teacher. So caring, and funny but hard at times when need be. Just like a grandpa. I love you. Rest in peace.

I'm at a loss for words. I was notified by rumor at my current highschool of his death, desperately in attempt to collect a response, as my vocabulary was no longer restrained, and words like "cat" because synonymous with "dog." I was struck dumb, almost becoming ten again as the memories became so vivacious. The fifth grade was a critical year in my development. You, sir, allowed for a distinct experience, with your authenticity acting as rain on a dry field. It's so very odd to me that the core of something as innocent as the fifth grade, with such ridiculous and innocent ideas attached to its surface, could experience something like death. Something so parched and and discomforting. Thank you, sincerely, for the confidence you gave me and other students. We remember all you did so well that we laugh purely when recalling the guitar, the buchman bucks, everything special that you created. We laugh, but there is an overlying respect and gratefulness. Thank you and I wish for you the best, from a person to another.

Not only did Mr. buchman teach his classes great skills academic wise, he taught us good character and to do what we love. He was by far the best teacher I have ever had. Because of him I was able to learn subjects 3 years ahead than others. He has made me become a so much better student and person. I wish I would have gotten the chance to thank him. Rest in peace Mr. Buchman, you were a shinning star.

Mr. Buchman was my fifth grade teacher back to Star View. He was one of the most influential teachers I have ever had in my life. From his fifth grade plays, to the green Altoids, to his famous "they're never going to make them anymore" candy sticks, to his words of kindness, he never failed to make memories for our little minds. He made me a little braver as I continued on in my educational life. I'll never forget him.

Please rest in peace.

Saints of God, come to his aid! Come to meet him, angels of the Lord! Receive his soul and present him to God the Most High. May Christ, Who called you, take you to Himself; may angels lead you to Abraham's side. Receive his soul and present him to God the Most High. Give him eternal rest, O Lord, and may Your light shine upon him forever. Receive his soul and present him to God the Most High. Let us pray: We commend our brother Mr. Buchman to you, Lord. Now that he has passed from this life, may he live on in Your presence. In Your mercy and love, forgive whatever sins he may have committed through human weakness. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mr. B, I'm glad to have been fortunate enough to end up in your 5th grade class at Star View Elementary so many years ago. As a new student to the school, new kid in the US and the state of California, you were one of the most memorable and welcoming teacher I could have had. The songs you sang to us while playing the guitar made me feel right as home even though I was still battling that language barrier. I fell in love with so much of that era of music because of you, for that I will be forever grateful. Your encouragement as a teacher also made me realize that I can learn as much as I can no matter how new or strange the subjects were to me. Thank you for being an everlasting inspiration for so many. Thanks, Mr. B.

You were so creative and inspiring, you affected so many people's lives. Thank you for everything you did Mr. Buchman, you will be missed.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Mr Buchman's passing. He had such a positive influence on both of my children who were lucky enough to be in his 5th grade class in the early 2000's. Not only was he the most caring teacher my kids ever had, he always had time for the parents. Nothing was ever too much for this wonderful man. We are all deeply saddened.
