Lisa Duncanson Obituary

November 29, 1964 - December 24, 2022 Huntington Beach - In loving memory of Lisa Duncanson, a renowned law professor, accomplished author of over 20 law books, passionate women's advocate, talented musician, and the legendary "Bar Exam Guru". Born on November 29, 1964, she passed away from complications from Breast Cancer on December 24, 2022, at her home in Huntington Beach, CA. Lisa's impact on the legal community was immeasurable, having successfully guided thousands to become lawyers in California, and leaving a lasting legacy through her numerous law books. Her dedication to her students and her profession earned her the title of the "Bar Exam Guru". Aside from her legal accomplishments, Lisa was a talented musician who loved playing the stand-up bass and shared a special musical bond with her father. Lisa faced her diagnosis of breast cancer with the same determination and grace she brought to every aspect of her life, living longer than any patient with her form of the disease. She leaves behind her longtime partner, Dan Golka, of Irvine, CA, and his children, Amanda and Grant, with whom she shared a love of attending Los Angeles Angels baseball games. She will be deeply missed by her brother, Paul Duncanson, of Seal Beach, CA, and his wife Marcella, as well as her nephew, Garrett. Lisa will also be remembered by her brother, Steven of Orange, CA, and her niece and nephew, Julia and Matthew, as well as cousins and many friends. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Carol Duncanson. Services will be on Saturday, February 11, 2023, family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of our beautiful Lisa at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 727 N. I am so sorry that Lisa passed away. I had been trying to reach her for over a year with no success, now I know why. I had digitally transferred many hour of her father“s early recordings from the 1950s and 60s. If the family can please contact me through Studio 770 in Brea, I can make sure they receive these historic family recordings.
