Lucille Janton

Janton, Lucille, passed away at home on August 31, 2007 at the age of 92. She lived a rewarding and fulfilling life and was a long-time resident of Capistrano Beach and San Juan Capistrano. Her legacy will live on in the family she cherished, including her loving children, Ellie Fronauer, John Janton, Mimi Butler, Mary Mathes, Joe Janton, Jay Janton, and Patty Wirtz; thirteen grandchildren, Sean and Matt Amberg, Becky Keating, Jeremy Janton, Stephen, Sarah and Peter Butler, Billy and Christopher Mathes, Cara, Jessa and Amanda Janton, and Elizabeth Wirtz; four great-grandchildren, Austin, MacKenna and Emily Keating, and Jack Janton, and finally, her constant feline companion, Goldie. The fourth of five children, Lucille Regina Williamson was born on August 5, 1915 in Newark, New Jersey. She spent her early years growing up in the Pittsburgh, PA area, where she earned her nursing degree at Mercy Hospital. She served in World War II as an Army nurse of the 180th General Hospital. She met her husband, John, during the war and married on January 3, 1947. After moving to Southern California and while raising their family, she worked at the Old Mission Gift Shop and as a nurse at Beverly Manor Convalescent Hospital in Capistrano Beach. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, instilling in her children, and a few neighbors, the value of faith and family. On September 10 at 6:00 p.m., there will be a vigil at O'Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m.. A service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 33926 Calle La Primavera, Dana Point. Immediately following the Mass, a graveside celebration will be held at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest, followed by an open-house reception at Lucille's home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations made in Lucille Janton's honor be sent to The City of Hope, Central Processing, 1500 E.
