Your Dad was the love of my life. We met in Junior High, 7th grade. Everyone loved your Dad!! He lit up a room with his smile and energetic personality. He was a unique and special person. Hard to believe it´s been 15 years since he´s been gone.
He always talked about you boys! So glad to see an update from you.
I will miss him till the day I die. Your Dad was a special person to so many. I´m so sorry you lost him so young. Please carry on his legacy loud and proud!
You´re missed still to this day.

Well it’s been 15 years yesterday. You’re missed still and people still remember your name, that’s pretty rad. Chase is doing really good and I’m super proud like I know you’d be. He’s a salary man and a college graduate going for his masters and helping people. I miss you, even with all the memories, and I know you did your absolute best. Grandpas probably up there givin some great cuts with you. As I get older I realize it gets harder, you didn’t get to see us graduate highschool or Chase get his degree on a big stage but I imagine you’d be the loudest and proudest there. I try to be a kind strong person for others like you taught but I’m human and make more mistakes than wins but I learn or try to. Idk man the older I get the more i realize I have no idea who you are but people still love you and remember your smile dude. I still to this day live as you taught me; “What is a Del Rio: honest, respectful and helpful”

Shawn and I had a crush on each other many, many years ago. We must have been 15 or 16 years old at the time. We met while my family was visiting relatives who lived across the street from his family. We stayed in touch for a number of years. In fact, he has my profile tattooed on his arm. I was just thinking of him after all of these years so I googled his name and learned that he passed. I just wanted to say I had the best kiss ever with him to Journey's "Don't Stop Believing." I can remember the exact day and where I met Shawn. I was at the Gym watching the guys work out and there he was .... he just smiled at me ....that adorable smile... Shawn Paul you are missed by more people than you will ever know...

I know it's silly but I remember how Shawn rolled his tee shirts... at the time I thought who does that and have never seen anyone else do that..God I miss his smile...he was tough as nails but a sweetheart through and thorough... I will remember you always Shawn and have thought about you my whole life.

As time goes by, I find myself thinking of you often. You had such an impact on my life as you did on so many others. I always see your smile that could lite up a room :) I miss you so much, I think of your boys and how they must miss you terribly, and your family. You were such a force and I am so glad you touched my life, I cant wait to see you again. I loved you then, I love you still.

Shawn was my big brother, we share the same biological mother. My memories although few are good ones. When I was a kid, he sent me a birthday present with 100 one dollar bills, my aunt and uncle teased me and told me that he had sent me a box of California air. I bought a mountain bike with the money, and everytime I rode it, I was reminded of my big brother. I even took him to my senior prom when he had come to visit our mom. It's the best memory from high school that I've got. We took pictures, then went to Bourbon st. I thought I was the coolest 17 year old in the world. That was the thing about Shawn that I remember the most, he was never too cool to hang out with his kid sister. The last time I saw him was when our mother passed away. He arrived carrying this huge duffle bag over his shoulder. He looked happy and was proud of becoming a Navy Seal. Through the years I've always bragged about my "cool" older brother who always seemed to be on some kind of adventure. I wish we had more time..
My thoughts and prayers are with his family, especially his two boys. To my big brother, I will always remember how you treated me like gold whenever we got to see each other, and look foward to seeing you and mom again.

Hello,
I knew Shawn when we were kids in Lawndale - he was my neighbor. We moved there around '71, so he was probably 6 and I was 8? He, Jimmy and I were the three musketeers. We always hung out trying to find some sort of mischief! Being a tomboy, I didn't get grossed out watching them trying to stuff various food items into their mouths and attempt to choke it down before it came out of their nose and mouth! With my little brother, we played GIJoes in our front yards... of course, my Barbie was just as tough as their guys only without the beard. Anyway, he moved away suddenly and I didn't see him for a long time after that. I believe it was a Mama Kay's and he was just about to go into the Navy? Well, it was great seeing him - he was still gorgeous with those black locks and huge smile! Unfortunately, that was the last time I saw him. Reading all you posts sounds like the Shawn I remember. I'm so sad not to have seen him since. I've thought about him over the years. I'm grateful he had a beautiful family and life. I know he lived it to the fullest! God bless you all.

Shawn was a great guy and I'm so glad I was able to get back in touch with him again. We were friends in Jr High and he dated my sister in high school and helped my brother become a high school wrestling champ. I got in touch with him again just after my brother passed away from cancer. He was very consoling to me for both my brother and sister's passing. He was always a great guy and a funny character. He told me my brother and sister are in a better place now and now he is with them. So strange how life works... We love ya and miss ya Shawn!

It was just a few short months ago when we came back in touch after many years. You were like a big brother to me growing up. Dennis and I were reminiscing about the fun times we all had.
