March 29, 1972 - June 30, 2021
Andrea Lynn Miller, age 49, died of natural causes June 30, 2021, at her home in Portland, Ore.
Andrea was born in Traverse City, Mich., to parents Paula Marie Miller (Vaneck) and Gary Lee Miller. She graduated from Traverse City High School in 1990. After graduation, her adventurous spirit led her to Ireland, where she spent a summer traveling around the country. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological and Earth Sciences at the University of Michigan in 1994. She moved to Seattle, Wash., where she worked at the Pacific Science Center for several years. She then went on to live in Boston, Mass., Portland, Ore. and Ypsilanti, Mich., but her love of the Pacific Northwest eventually drew her back to Portland. For the past four years, she worked as a Client Support Analyst for Syntellis Performance Solutions in Portland.
Her family, friends and co-workers will always remember her as a quiet person with a quick, sarcastic sense of humor, a kind heart and a love of animals. She adopted numerous animals over the years, including birds, cats, dogs, rabbits, and pygmy goats.
Andrea is survived by her father, Gary Lee Miller; her sister, Dr. Alyson Miller Booth; brother-in-law, Scott Douglas Booth; and niece, Olivia Rowan Booth of Ada, Mich. Andrea was preceded in death by her mother, Paula Marie Miller.

I worked with Andrea over the past few years and found her to be very generous with her time and with her heart. I count myself lucky to have known her during her time here and to have called her my friend. I miss her wit. I have caught myself several times now reaching out to message her to share a story or to ask for help and know I will miss her for a long time to come.

I went to school with Andrea at Long Lake. She was a kind person, with a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. I am sorry to hear of her passing. My sincerest condolences to her friends and family.
