Andrew "Andy" Porter Rapp died peacefully at Harmony Senior Living in Adair Village Aug. 30, 2021 at the age of 83 with Liz, his loving wife of 41 years by his side. Andy is also survived by his children, Andrea (Deedee) Rapp of Renton, Wash., Toby Rapp (Amy Brydon Rapp) of Portland, Heather Rapp (C. J. Juhring) of San Francisco; his sister, Katherine Rapp Harris; brother, Joseph H. Rapp (Kathryn Rouine-Rapp); three grandchildren, Andrew, Pearson, and Anna; and two beloved cats, Indy and Jazzy.
Born in Portland, Ore., April 30, 1938, Andy graduated from Washington High School and University of Oregon. He worked at and owned Green Furniture Hospital in southeast Portland until he retired at 70 years old. He enjoyed waterskiing on the upper Willamette River, snow skiing in Oregon and Idaho, and spending time with family and friends.
Andy passed away after an extended battle with Alzheimer's Disease. In his last weeks Andy was lovingly cared for by Joanie and her caring, compassionate team at Harmony Senior Living, AFH and Lumina Hospice & Palliative Care. I was so surprise about Andy's passing our families have been close because our association in the First Congregational Church and Green Hospital. Please extend my love and deep feelings to the rest of the Rapp Family.
