We didn't know Barney until he moved from his home to an apartment and adopted his daughter, Julie's, garden. It was a pleasure meeting and talking with Barney. We were amazed by his stamina and know he will be missed as he was remembered at the funeral service.

There are not enough words to describe all the years and memories spent with a long-time colleague and friend. I will miss having lunch with Barney-san at St. Vincent Hospital when we volunteered and all the great conversations about his family, grandchildren, current affairs, his house, his travels, and gardening. He loved his family very much and was so proud of his big family. I am truly thankful and honored to have known such a dear person. He will be missed tremendously. My loving thoughts and prayers to the family.

Barney was a wonderful person, I am glad to have known him. His cheerful attitude was such a blessing to me and likely many others involved with St. Vincent de Paul at St. John Fisher Church. I regret I am unable to be with his family at his funeral, but am praying for your comfort.
