Having just returned to Portland from Baja this week, I was saddened to learn of Georganne's death. We were roommates our freshman year at Oregon and I have many fun memories of our year together!!
To her family I can only say how sorry I am for your loss of her. I regret not being in town for her memorial.
God Bless You; Kay Pooser Hoff

Please know that my thoughts are with all of you. I knew Georgeanne through our Living Well group. From the little time that I knew her--maybe two years--Georgeanne knew how to enjoy life, appreciate her loved ones, and find beauty in her surroundings. She will surely be missed.

What a wonderful tribute to Georganne yesterday. The words by Mike and all the other family and friends and the fun pictures just punctuated what a terrific person we had been honored to have in our lives. We will miss her, but certainly not forget her.

Don,
When I think of Georganne, I see her beautiful smile and her wonderful laugh. My parents have been blessed with your friendship. I think right now, my dad and Georganne are up in heaven sipping a gin and tonic and telling jokes.
Much Love,

Don, Ron and I were so sorry to read of Georgann's illness and passing. Our sympathy is with you and your family. We have fun memories of Restaurant Conventions with you and Georgann--those were the days being woken up with loud pounding on the door and Ramos Gin Fizzes shoved at us the minute the door was opened. How we did laugh.

Don and family; we were so very sorry to hear about Georganne's passing. We have so many very good memories of being your neighbors for 30+ years. We will never forget when we had the lights on the court one night and she came out on the patio to paint a piece of furniture. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Uncle Don,
Amy and I were shocked to hear of Geogeanne's sudden passing. Like many others on the guest book, we too have our fond memories of her smile and friendliness towards all. We remember the good times had by all at the Barr family reunions and the time that we were able to spend with the two of you, although they were often too far apart. My favorite memory of Georgeanne was on your wedding day. I was thirteen and when I went through the reception line and kissed the new bride, she commented that I could go through the line again. :} So sorry that we can't make the memorial but please know that she, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Don: Please accept my condolences on the loss of Georgeanne. It was my privilege to get to know both of you through my husband, Paul, and those crazy Milwaukie HS reunions! Both of you made me feel like an "insider" whenever we attended. Thanks for wonderful memories and know that time does make things better. Lani (Paul) Shimer

Our four-some grew to sometimes a dozen and we all enjoyed the food, company and the entire Barr family we got to know. . I am sorry you have lost an importany part of your loving family. Remember all the happy times. Condolences, Beverley Cornell

My warmest thoughts to the family. We were neighbors, living on l74th in Portland while our young children were growing up. During the pre-Christmas chaos we would often call each other and share a bottle of Cold Duck and many laughs to get through the next few weeks. Georanne was so fun and I loved her laugh and smile. She gifted me one year with the famous Yaw's Cheesecake recipe - it is our family's favorite dessert to this day. May wonderful memories of a lovely person get you through the next few months. Affectionately

During this difficult time for the Barr family and everyone who was honored to call her friend, we know she is being cared for graciously in the hands of the Lord, and for that we must be thankful. Uncle Don, I'm so very sorry for the loss of your dearest treasure. You and Aunt Georgeanne taught me an awful lot about responsibility and growing up when I lived with you and worked for you both babysitting the kids and working at "Yaws". I have such great memories of playing Yatzee after dinner every evening. My love to you and may God give you comfort and a real sense of peace. Teresa Barr-Page-Ayala

At times like these I can never find the right words to express my feeling, but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Don.
Georganne was the most caring, positive person. I have such fond memories of our trip together through the Panama Canal and the “girls trip” we took to Las Vegas where Georganne was my roommates. She loved to play games and she was so good at it! She had the most beautiful smile and the ability to make those around her feel good about themselves. She handled her illness with courage and dignity and she will live on in my fond memories of the truly beautiful person she was.

Chuck & Linda (Jensen) Brown send their condolences to you Don and your family and friends. I have been blessed to know Georganne, then you too, through the years since she and I met at Grant High in sorority. I was blessed with her positive and joyful approach to life, and her sincere interest in and caring for others. We shared classes, conversations, drives in her mother's Buick convertible, a weekend at Seaside during Spring Break, and much more.
Then we were both busy wives and mothers, and when that intense time eased, we picked up the pieces even though Chuck and I had moved to the Midwest. It was always great to visit with you Don and Georganne when I frequently traveled to Portland in the 1980s and 1990s. We of course attended the 40th and 50th Grant High School Reunions together--how great they were.
I'll miss this positive, warm and genuine friend. Thank you too Don for wonderful memories. Chuck and I wish you comfort as you remember all the wonderful times with Georganne Yaw Barr.
