Joanne Feltz (Brannan)
Feb. 7, 1944 - Sept. 5, 2021
Joanne Feltz (Brannan) passed peacefully in the early hours of Sept. 5, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was 77.
Joanne was born Feb. 7, 1944 in San Francisco, Calif., and grew up in the Portland area. She was raised by her mother, Rose Small, and her step-father, Jack Small. In 1965 she married Bob Brown and they had a beautiful daughter, Lisa. They were divorced when Lisa was young and Joanne met Tom Feltz through her work at United Grocers. They were married in 1973 and Debbie was born shortly after. With her marriage to Tom, she inherited seven nearly grown children. Joanne became a devoted and loving grandma to 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren over her lifetime. She loved taking them to dinner and ice cream as well as sharing her love of art with them. She always wanted to be included in family outings, even just going to the playground at the park.
Tom and Joanne shared a passion for travel and through Tom's work at United Grocers they saw the world. Joanne was a warm friend and hostess to hundreds of grocery employees who were along on these trips - from China to Australia.
Tom also taught Joanne how to golf. To his chagrin, she quickly became a better golfer than he was! Together they have golfed at some of the most beautiful courses in the world. Tom passed away in 2008 in the loving care of Joanne.
Joanne was a modest yet very accomplished artist. Oil paint, watercolor, colored pencil, stained glass and later in life, bead work were among her many mediums. She loved to give her art to family and friends and all of us that have been on the receiving end of these gifts know that it has brightened our worlds significantly.
Late in life, Joanne met a wonderful man that was also a golfer, Ron Kirkelie. They formed a quick and deep bond during COVID and her diagnosis and battle with cancer and Ron cared for Joanne beautifully in her final years.
Joanne is survived by her sister, Jackie; nine children; daughters, Lisa (Steve) Burgoyne, Debbie Tegarden (Paul), Kathy (Bill) Kilgore, Janet (Barney) Hays, Nancy Taylor, Margie (John) Hunter, Rosemary (Henry) Franklin, sons, Bob and Mike (Anne); her grandchildren, Kayla, Dev, Ollie, Gus, David, Julie, Kerry, Lucy, Stephanie, Tracy, Jake, Adam, Emily, Skye, Maureen, Amanda, Sabrina, Krista; and her 16 great-grandchildren.
Joanne's service/reception will be held outdoors at 12 p.m., Sept. 17, 2021, at Lincoln Memorial, 11801 S.E. Mount Scott Blvd., Happy Valley, OR with private interment to follow.

I had the honor of spending time with Joanne over the years when visiting my family, the Fogoros's. Joanne taught me how to do and LOVE beading. She was so hospitable and her smile and laugh were infectious. It saddens my heart she is gone. My deepest sympathies to the family.
