William Clarke North Jr.

North Jr., William Clarke 73 Aug. 23, 1938 Oct. 23, 2011 Bill died peacefully at his Warrenton home surrounded by his lov-ing wife, Martha; and children, Timothy North of Vancouver; Heather North of Portland; Joy North-Loveless of Sacramento, Calif.; and Jennifer North-Simila of Seaside. Bill was born in Portland to William and Francis North. He grew up in Corbett, worked during his younger years for Portland Fish Co., and ran the family business, The Royal Chinook Inn in Corbett. Bill also had a summer floating gas station and snack bar on the Columbia River called the Rooster Rock Marina. Bill spent many years serving his country in the U.S. Navy on the S.S. Permanente Silverbow. Bill and his son Tim took electrical and refrigeration courses and started a business in Portland called Mt. Hood Refrigeration Services. Bill retired to Warrenton. He leaves behind his wife; children; grandchildren Joshua, Christina, Shelbee, Dustin, Ressa, Johnny, Layla and Shady; and great-grandchild, Daniel. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Hughes-Ransom Mortuary in Seaside with a potluck reception to follow at the American Legion.
