Carol Sheber (Madame Sheber) was my French teacher during the 1978-1979, 1979-1980 school years at griffin High School. She was an excellent teacher, and was my inspiration for pursuing French III and IV during my last two years of high school. I later CLEP'ed out of it in college, tutored some, and during my tenure in the US Army, I acted as an interpreter and translator when my unit was attached to a French division during DESERT STORM. Only recently I thought I would look her up, and was sad to learn of her passing. I do not know who will see this, but I wish the family my condolences, even if given at such a late date. I have only known Amy for a short time as a contributing member of our Call to Action Board. I sense, though, that her mother's spirit lives in another generation through so gentle and generous a person as Amy. May promises of resurrection and experiences of incarnated love ease this moment of loss for each and every family member. Peace...

Nothing prepares us for the loss of a parent. Amy's generous contributions to University Ministry at Regis are similar to her mothers and Amy is a living tribute to her concerns for social justice and the People of God. You are all in our prayers.

Having just lost a son to cancer, I know something of your family's grief. I also know how much testimony from relative strangers can mean. We in Denver have know, worked with, and come to love Carol's daughter Amy. Knowing Amy and the great work she does for church and world, the gift she is, makes us also know what a great Mom she had. We join you in celebrating Carol's life. From the folks at "Leaven," a Call To Action type group in Denver.

Amy and family: please know that you and your family are in our prayers in this most difficult time. There is no real easy way to understand why something like this happens, however we hope that knowing that your friends are with you in spirit right now will be a comfort to you. Please let us know what we can do to help you get through this; even it be just to listen or help bear the grief.

My condolences to Mrs. Sheber's family and friends. You are all loved.

Mrs. Sheber brought a dead language to life through her enthusiasm for teaching. She was fortunate to see every face of every student to attend BMHS during her tenure there, just as I was fortunate to see her smiling face every day of my high school career.

Thank you, Mrs. Sheber; you will be warmly remembered and sadly missed

Mrs. Sheber was one of the best teachers I've ever had. She was always so excited and animated during class and her classroom was always decorated. She had so much enthusiasm for Latin, and she always had a smile on her face. I wish I had kept in better contact with her. She will be greatly missed.

To your family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
