I am saddened by the loss of a fine man and a good friend to Eureka College. He was generous to us with his time and his home, and he will be greatly missed.

To Anne I send my sincerest condolences and wishes that fond memories will in time soften the sadness. I think of you both when I enjoy the Peace Garden.

To grandson Bill Garrigan, I also send my sympathy and best wishes. It was a pleasure to know the fine grandson of a good man.

A wonderful family man and a great mind in his field, David Vaughan lived a full life. His memory and legacy will stay with all of us who knew him. I wish his family (particularly Sonny, Jo, Emily, and David John) all the best during this most difficult time, and much love in their future.
