Donald Colvin Obituary

Donald Sherley Colvin, age 86, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 26, 2021. Don was born on December 11, 1934 in Maryville, Tennessee, the son of Thomas and Georgia Mae (Phelps) Colvin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Flora Faye (Holloway) Colvin, his Seminole High School sweetheart and wife of 65 years; brother, Willis Darrell Colvin; daughter, Colleen Marie Jackson; brother-in-law, Bobby Smith. Don is survived by sister, Freeda (Hugo) Koopmans; sister, Dwanna Smith; sister, Connie (George) Dowdy; son, Donald Shawn (Jackye) Colvin; son-in-law, David Jackson, Sr.; grandsons: David (Lucy) Jackson, Jr., John Baggett; granddaughters: Jeniffer Colvin, Jeannette (Andy) Molnar; great-granddaughter, Adelaide Jackson; and great-grandsons: Liam Jackson, Elek Molnar; and many nieces and nephews. Don served 2 1/2 years in the reserves and 20 years active duty in the US Marine Corps. He was an avid ham radio operator and a licensed pilot. A visitation will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Collison-Gramkow Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sylvan Lake Cemetery with military honors. The Korean War Veterans Association Department of Florida and Chapter 173 Casselberry send our belated yet deepest condolences on the passing of our Brother In Arms Donald Sherley Colvin (US Marine Corp.22 & 1/2 yrs).
He served his country well and honorably.
