EUGENE ROMER Jr.

ROMER JR., EUGENE, 75, of Mount Dora, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2009. He was born in Cincinnati, OH, and moved to Mount Dora in 1958. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, avid outdoorsman and baker. He owned and operated Romer's Bakery in Mount Dora for 27 years and was well known for his famous doughnuts and baked goods. Eugene was a Veteran having served with the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lucille F. (Wawrzycki); his four children, Jim of San Francisco, CA, Tom of Santa Clara, CA, Teresa White of Lakeland, FL and Jennifer Romer of Santa Clara, CA; three grandchildren, Elyse, Abigail and Anna; and his sister Doris Huff of Cincinnati, OH. He was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church of Mount Dora. The family will receive friends in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Wednesday, Jan. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. with Wake Service at 5 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church of Mount Dora on Thursday, Jan. 7 at 9 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors, Eustis, 352-357-4193.
