Alice "Jerry" Buchanan, 93, passed peacefully on January 4, 2021 at her home. A virtual memorial service will be held on January 16th at 10am by St. Luke's United Methodist Church. The link to the service may be found at www.st.lukes.org
under the CARE tab.
Born in Lewisburg, TN, Jerry never lost her southern accent or her charm. She loved gardening, line dancing, music, her family, animals, church, travel and Republican politics.
In politics, she held 3 terms on the 5th District JNC and successfully spearheaded campaigns for countless candidates seeking to be elected to public office at the local, state and national level. Jerry was a 15 year Trustee of Valencia College, including Chair, original member of West Orange Women and Board Chair of the Orlando Regional History Center. She is survived by her 2 children, Lynn B. Moot (Lorence) and Carol B. Richardson (Ed), 5 grandchildren, Daniel, Bonnie, Rebecca, Katie and Stefanie and 14 great grandchildren, all of whom will miss her greatly.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either The Russell Home for Atypical Children or St. Luke's United Methodist Church, both of which meant a great deal to her.
