José Moya Fernández Obituary
José Manuel Moya Fernández, resident of Orlando, Florida and formerly of Miami Beach passed away at his home on October 19, 2018 at the age of 74.
Born in Cienfuegos, Cuba he was the son of the late Máximo Evelio Moya Diaz and Maria Dolores Fernández Guerra.
He attended La Academia Naval del Mariel in Mariel, Cuba. In the 1970's José Manuel became the Vice Director of Central Electro Nuclear de Cienfuegos in Juragua, Cuba. In 1994 he emigrated to the United States to be with his loving daughters.
Most recently and until he retired José Manuel was project manager for The Citadel Group now known as The Befeler Group. He directly managed several construction projects in the Little Havana section of Miami and Miami Beach, FL. He handled the complete renovations and restorations of large old historical buildings. These buildings were beautifully restored and converted by José into striking modern condominiums giving them new lives. He was devoted and passionate and truly enjoyed his work and often would work late into the night and on weekends. José also personally sold many of these condominiums himself to buyers as he possessed the uncanny gift of selling. "He could sell anything" said George Befeler, Chief Executive Officer at the Befeler Group. He also managed many apartment buildings over the years and had the ability to understand human nature like few others.
José Manuel is survived by his three loving daughters that he lived for, Georgina M. Moya Fernández of Edgewater, NJ, Sonia Moya Fernández of Secaucus, NJ and Mariela Moya Fernández of Fort Lauderdale, FL. as well as granddaughter's Havanna Z. Horvath and Amanda Maziell Cuevas of Secaucus, NJ. Siblings Zenaida Moya Fernández, Sonia Moya Fernández and nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his father Máximo Evelio Moya Diaz and his mother Maria Dolores Fernández Guerra, his sister Elsie Luisa (Nono) of Cienfuegos, Cuba and his brother Domingo Moya Fernández of Miami. Fl.
