Lillian Mausser Obituary
MAUSSER, LILLIAN,
nee Magit, 80, of Orlando, mother of Gregory Mausser
(Stephanie) of Sanford, FL, and Barbarann Voron (Neal) of Lansdale, PA; and grandmother of Cole and Sidney Mausser and Ryan and Kyle Voron, died on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 after a long illness. Mrs. Mausser was the wife of the late Robert Mausser, of Shelton, CT; the daughter of the late Bertha and Eli Magit, of Brooklyn, NY; and the sister of the late Marian Aspler and the late Louis Magit, of Brooklyn, NY. Lillian and Robert, a latex chemist, had resided in Dover, DE and Shelton, CT for many years prior to Robert's death in 1999. They helped many clients over the years with tax preparation services and served as VITA volunteers. Lillian also was a licensed manicurist, a real estate agent, a high school counselor assistant, and a homemaker. She was especially proud of the accomplishments of her son, an attorney in private practice, and her daughter, a psychotherapist. "Most importantly, she was a Mom," her daughter Barbarann said. "She was always home when her children came home from school. She prepared delicious meals and was very involved in sewing ballet costumes, going to high school plays and band concerts, and helping out with school projects." "Though she had lost her best friend upon Dad's passing," Barbarann said, "She was able to find renewed purpose in her life as a Grandmama. She was able to impart her wisdom as a parent and support her children in becoming better parents." Lillian's greatest joy was being around and interacting with her grandchildren. She practiced hand signing "I Love You" to her grandsons following a debilitating stroke and ultimately regained her dexterity and ability to handwrite - serving as a true inspiration to all who knew her. She moved to Orlando, FL in 2005, and later a broken leg and complications from diabetes left her wheelchair bound and unable to walk. However, she remained determined to get around and to participate in life activities to the best
of her ability. Funeral services will be held on Friday,
Sept. 25, 2009 at Goldsteins'
Rosenberg's Raphael-Sacks - Suburban North Chapel, Southampton, PA, with interment to follow at Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the assisted living facility that respected her dignity and wishes and offered her comfort and loving support each and every day: Southern Home Care Assisted Living Facility, c/o Frank Legaspi, 10144 Brownwood Ave., Orlando, FL 32825; or to Hospice of the Comforter, 480 W. Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714; or the American Diabetes Association
