Raleigh Radford Taliaferro

TALIAFERRO, RALEIGH RADFORD , 85, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at his Mount Dora home. His beloved wife, Lera, of 65 years was by his side. Mr. Taliaferro is survived by his son, Barry Taliaferro, grandsons, Paul and Christopher, and sister Hilda Graybill. He has three great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Olivia, and William Raleigh. Raleigh was born in Virginia on May 9, 1923 and grew up in the Roanoke area. He served in the US Navy during WWII as aviation machinist mate. In 1959 he moved his family to Orlando, FL, where he enjoyed a career at Martin Marietta, working there for 25 years until his retirement in 1984. Raleigh was a Life Member and past Master of Pine Castle Masonic Lodge #368. He and Lera became residents of Mount Dora in 1996 and were active members at Lake Ola Baptist Church. A Viewing will be held Sunday, October 26th from 4 to 5PM followed by a Masonic Service at 5PM at Loomis Family Funeral Home Chapel in Apopka. His burial will be Wednesday,
