BOBBER, SR., ROBERT J.
90, passed away February 20, 2009, in Orlando, FL. Mr.
Bobber was born March 9, 1918, in Milwaukee, WI. He was a veteran, serving during WWII as a Marine and retired from the Navy Reserves with the rank of Captain. He worked 32 years for the Naval Research Lab, serving as Chief Scientist for the last 12 years. After retirement, he was a consultant for foreign governments in South Africa, Israel, Italy, London and the Netherlands. Mr. Bobber was a Letterman in track at the University of Wisconsin where he received his Bachelors in Mathematics and Masters in Physics. He enjoyed sports, woodworking and reading. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Jr. and Sally Bobber of Orlando, FL, and Christopher and Janifer Bobber of Richmond, VA; daughters and son-in-law, Paula Bobber
Bateman and Tom Bateman of Orlando, FL; step-daughter, Elizabeth Bate of The Villages, FL; grandchildren, Amanda Macri (Robert), Robert J. Bobber III (Analia), Paulina Brewer (James), Ana Weaver (Jeff), Gretchen Bobber, and Eric Bobber; step granddaughter, Erin Scarbourgh (Brian) and nine great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, February 28th at 9AM at the Baldwin Fairchild Pine Castle Chapel. Interment will be private.
