Rose Karle Obituary
KARLE, ROSE MARY, Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother Rose Mary Karle, of Orlando, died on Friday, September 15, 2006. Fondly known by all whose lives she touched, Rose Mary passed away to join her husband and life-long partner Richard (Dick) Karle in heaven. Dick preceded her in death on April 4, 1991. They were married for 46 years. Rose Mary was born in Erie, PA on July 4, 1913, the daughter of the late William C. Straub and Madeline E. Cooney Straub. She was a graduate of Mercyhearst College and the LeSwear Opera Company in Erie. She was the President of the Orlando Welcome Wagon and Hub Civic Club in Orlando during the 1970's and 1980's. She volunteered for 17 years for Seniors First as a site monitor at the East Orange Community Center serving congregate meals to the elderly. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church since 1970 where she was President of the Over 50 Club for several terms, sang in the choir, and was a Eucharist Minister. Those who loved her and will miss her include two surviving daughters, Ann Louise Mioduszewski and her husband Steve of Erie, PA, and Charlotte Sanford of Orlando. Rose Mary is survived and will be missed by two brothers, Francis and Eugene Straub of Erie, and five sisters, Charlotte Fresch, Dorothy Detisch Batcho, JoAnn Hopsecger, and Alice Swanseger of Erie, as well as Kathleen Strub of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Raymond, and
William Straub and one sister, Cecelia Karle, all of Erie, PA. Loved by her seven grandchildren, Brett and Bartt Sanford of Orlando; Ann C. Mioduszewski, Stephen Mioduszewski, and Barbara Russo of Erie, PA; Elizabeth Kinley of Hobe Sound, FL, and Susan Putnam of Salem, OR. She also loved her four great grandchildren, Jessica, Shannon and Kattie of Erie, and Audrey of Orlando. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may offer her and the family their parting farewells at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1501 Alafaya Trail in Orlando, from 12:30PM to 1PM on Thursday, September 21, 2006 followed by Mass of Celebration and Internment.
