It has been over 2 months since Shawn has passed away, but I just saw it on the Cardinal Mooney website as I sat to organize bookmarked sites. All my prayers go to his family as well as Brenda and her family. It would have been nice to have made the reunion to have seen him and others again, because it shows one never knows when God calls. Although I did not know him as well as I wished, I remember him as a fun and committed person. Truly sad to hear of his passing, as he was so young and had 3 blessed children to enjoy raising. God bless you all in this difficult time.

It was with great sorrow to learn about Shawn's recent death. I have worked in several resorts in orlando for the past 10 years, and the first person I would call was Shawn to set up a cup program. I will miss working with Shawn he was someone that was true to his word and I could always count on. My prayers are with his family and friends.

It's taking me over a month to finally sign this guestbook and I still can't find the words I want to say but then again.. you can never find the right words when things like this happen.
There hasn't been a day since Shawn's been gone and this guestbook has been up that I haven't gone through it and read it. There is so much I'll miss about Shawn it's unbelivable. Brenda I want you to know that my family and I understand how much you're going through but please ALWAYS remember that we're here for you and the children, NO MATTER WHAT. Shawn was ALWAYS there for our family, through thick and thin. He helped save Larry and Mom's relationship.. and my sister and I could always count on him.
Whether it was to pick me up from school and take me to some kind of appointment, or to help Erin when she was stranded with two flat tires. Shawn & Pete were her pit crew!
Shawn was the first person to actually get excited and couldn't wait.. when he found out Erin was having Hayden :) and till this day.. he'll never really know how much he helped our family accept it.
He was an absolutely amazing person.
I'm going to miss seeing him come down the drive way in his grubby old flip-flops I used to tease him about... or the fact that I insisted on him and Larry being "lovers" because they were such good friends... or the time I watched Larry crash his brand new plane he got for his birthday and Shawn laughed it off we went about our day but BOY did Larry feel bad, or how I always asked him for money, lol.. or how I stole his CD's without him knowing and I'd be listening to one and he'd join in and ask me where I got it, then I'd tell him his car and he'd just laugh.. boy am I going to miss that laugh and his contagious smile.
Shawn was one of those people.. if he laughed, you laughed. If he smiled, you smiled.
There's so many memories from the boating trips, to babysitting baby Megan, to the BBQ's and get togethers at each others houses.
Twelves years was not nearly long enough to have him in my life. I am so thankful for even getting to spend that much time with him. I never really got a chance to let Shawn know how much I looked up to him or how much I really loved that guy even though I was such a brat to him growing up, he mean't alot to me and still does.
My last memory of Shawn was at my 21st birthday. He bought be a bucket of bud-light and gave me card with $40 in it. The message that he wrote in that card will stay with me forever, it was so sincere and sweet it brought tears to my mom and I. I can still remember running up to him and asking him for a dollar to put in the jutbook and he just laughed.. and said.. "Big Megan!! I just gave you 40 of them, use one of those!!!"
HA! Typical Shawn & I.. always goofing around.
It takes a real man to juggle as much as what Shawn did.. he always found time for his family and friends. He changed and helped shape the lives around him and it was always for the better.
After the viewing and burial.. I sat back and thought.. Shawn's finally meeting his real father for the first time, as well as getting to play with T-Dog and Sammy. I know he's happy and misses all of us just as much as we miss him. Hopefully, with time everything will be okay.
I love you WATSON! and I'll miss you more then words can describe.
Brenda, please know.. if you EVER need anything.. The Moody/Sanderson family is here for you and the children. We've all said many prays for God to watch over you 4 and to give you the strength to get through all this.. Hang in there!
I'll see you again someday Shawn Watson & you'd better have that dollar, hahaha.
LOVE YOU ALL,
BIG MEGAN!

To Shawn's Loved Ones -
The sun lost some sparkle when Shawn left us today,
God didn’t send a notice that he would go away.
We ponder for the reason for leaving us so soon,
His sparkle hasn’t really left, it's just shining from the moon.
I am one of the lucky people blessed with the privilege of knowing Shawn in my life.
Wishing you all comfort & prayers,

Brenda I was shocked to hear of Shawn's passing and it saddened me. I know we were never super close or anything but you and Shawn always had a smile and a kind word whenever I crossed your path and I always appreciated that. The last time I saw you both was Easter a year or two ago (I'm not sure) outside of Incarnation. As every time be it at a predators game outside a restaurant or any other chance crossing you were holding hands and smiling. God willing my wife and our two little girls will be as happy as your family always seemed to me. Stay strong and never let your children forget their Dad. My Father died when I was young and my Mother was inspiration who helped us move on but never forget and I know you can do the same.

Dear Watson Family,
We were so sorry to hear of your loss. While we have never met, we are neighbors of yours who felt like we knew Shawn. Anytime we saw each other he was so friendly...always out in the back yard having fun with the kids. If there is anything we can do, we are only 2 houses down. Our prayers are with you.

Brenda,
I pray for you and your children every night as I cannot begin to fathom what you are going through. I know that you miss the love of your life and your children their wonderful father. Shawn's smile in itself was enough to make you feel warm, welcomed and comforted without a word being spoken. As I look to the sky I feel that warm smile shining down comforted knowing that love surrounds you all. I will miss him dearly!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all through this difficult time. We all want answers to WHY this happens to GOOD people. Shawn Watson will always be remembered as a great friend, father, and husband. I know we will miss him dearly, and for a long time. Bucs games, softball, neighborhood outings, Karaoke at the Tavern (even though it was painful listening to him, but halarious); none of these will ever be the same without him and his smiles. I know there are alot of friends who will be there for Megan, Derrick, and William, and that goes for us as well. God bless you, Shawn.

Brenda,
It's been so long since we've all been together at Cardinal Mooney. I find myself saddened by the news and yet happy that I had the chance last October to see Shawn. I did miss you and the kids at the reunion, but I know how busy raising children can be. (All my friends, I have none...yet...I'm Uncle Rick.)
I'll be honest, Shawn stepped out of the car with DJ and Tim, I didn't even recognize him. But he knew me right away. He looked so different from what my 20-year memory had saved. I knew Shawn for 10 years through school, and he was one of the few who got along with almost everyone. We will all miss him.
I live in Saint Louis now, but if you and the kids need anything, just ask. I know everyone signing this book feels the same.
Love and Respect,

I have known Shawn for 2 years, and it feels like 20. He is the type of person you want around you at all times. I will miss his emails every tuesday complaining about the softball stats, trying to pry another base hit from the stat sheets. I'll miss running into him every where while running errands. I will miss his passion for our softball team and his family. He was the heart and soul of Vegas Gold and a pure and great friend. I will miss him calling me "Dommy". The only person besides my mother to call me that. God Bless Shawn and his family!!!

Dear Watson Family:
I'm better known as Joesky and I'm Shawn's counterpart and Whirley Teammate in Texas. Shawn will be remembered in my heart forever for the following: Shawn loved to laugh, its seems like our conversations always started with a laugh first. Shawn would never let you get away with glib answer, he always was digging a little deeper. I can stil hear him saying, "Now Joesky come on, tell me the real story". Shawn was not afraid to share his knowledge and that is a wonderful gift. Shawn helped many of his teammates at Whirley to grow professionally that will truly be missed. More importantly, Shawn truly loved life and the people around him. I am so deeply sadden by Shawns departure, but I will carry his spirit with me till eternity.
Shawn - givem hell in heaven...love you dude!

To the entire Watson/Cool Family: All of our love is with you during this tragic time. On an ordinary day, friends may not speak the words in their hearts, but during times like these it seems easy to express your love for your friends. You and your family are truly loved by many and we will all be there to support you in any way possible. Please lean on your friends and family to help get you through this. You are in our thoughts and prayers always. We love you more than you could imagine.

Brenda and children,
A prayer by Thich Nhat Hanh comes to mind when I think of Shawn and how he embraced the day with his smile...
Waking up this morning, I smile,
Twenty four brand new hours are before me. I vow to live fully in each moment and to look at all beings with the eyes of compassion.
Shawn's smile and energy will be missed in our world. I'm sorry for your loss.
