Steve and I were the best of friends beginning the first day of class at Vanderbilt Law. We lived on the same floor of a building across the street from Law School. I decided to check up with him today and found that he has been called home to heaven . Steve and I were very good friends. He gave up his smoking habits prior to following me home in conway arkansas so he could sing at my wedding in May of 1969, the end of our first year . We shared time together the remaining two years . After graduation we returned to our home towns and shared only a few times in Florida and on the phone. All of these years have provided memories of our times together and my life has been blessed because of his many hours of friendship and leadership that has been in my heart and prayers all of my life. This day is full of sadness and I regret that I have not spent more time communicating during these many years. God bless to MISSY AND FAMILY.

I played on the Wesleyan tennis team with Steve, got to know and admire him. Though we lost contact after college, I always have remembered his quiet thoughtfulness, integrity, and friendly nature. My condolences to his family and friends.

Had he not died in 2017, Bill Beik, Steve's only brother, would be joining Carl and me in passing on our sincere condolences to Missy, Chrissy, Paul, Jackie, and Aaron. We are sorry for your loss and wish each of you comfort, hope, and many happy memories. We are grateful that Steve came to visit Bill in 2013 and 2016 when Bill was so ill with Parkinson's disease.
Peace,
Millie Beik and Carl Kauffman
