I'm sorry I did not know about Jimmy's passing until now, when an email came back as undeliverable. He lived up the block and was my best friend in high school. We went to Cornell together, but, sadly, drifted apart up there. We reconnected in 2015 when I stopped off in Orlando to see him on my way north and I was so glad to see him again. My condolences go out to his wife and family. I hope someone will contact me and give me more information. Even though we have not been in touch for a while, my heart is breaking over this news...

Jim, Kathy Diane my wife, and I shared many years of years of friendship. We always enjoyed many eventful occasions and interaction. My personal friendship spanned five decades, a friendship that never diminishes despite distance and time.

I knew his Honor when he was first appointed as an Orlando Municipal Court Judge. He had big shoes to fill as Bob Hamilton was a legion, but he did the bench proud. So sorry to find out he has passed. My thoughts are with his family

Jim Stoker and his wife Kathy Sykes Stroker were the first friends we made when we moved to Windermere in 1989. They were our next door neighbors. We soon became dear friends and had so many good times together over the years and have remained the dearest and best of friends to this day. Jim was a remarkable man, a brilliant mind, incredibly dedicated professional and had an amazing sense of humor! Words cannot say how much he will be missed by all who new him, but especially his family and friends. We miss him already, but by the Grace of God he has been lifted up to a better place. Enjoy the heavenly view, Jim, and keep watch over us! God Bless you and those you have left behind.

I remember well when Jim joined Gurney, Gurney and Handley fresh out of Fordham Law School I recall. Leon Handley sponsored him for Orlando municipal judge. The municipal court was in the old city hall building on south Orange Ave. I believe on the corner of Church st. It was a large white wooden structure. Traffic cases were handle there and Jim got his start in the rickety old structure. From there he matriculated to the Circuit Court and earned a fine reputation as a somewhat no nonsense strict jurist who dealt fairly with litigants and lawyers . He will be missed but has gone on to his reward which he has well earned.

So sorry to hear that Judge Stroker had passed. I enjoyed appearing before him. He was a gentleman on and off the bench.

It's hard to take in - George and Jim went on the bench at same time and were fast friends - golf, parties - especially at the judges conferences - were fun with the Strokers. These were men who cared and made a difference to many in our community. I'm so glad you got to celebrate George's 80th with us. SS

Judge Stroker was the most honest, fair, and respectful Judge that I have ever encountered. I have served the Central Florida area as a professional guardian for over 30 years, and during that time, I was privileged to have Judge Stroker to oversee my cases. He was kind and compassionate to my clients and was fair to all. Rest in peace, your Honorable Judge Stroker!

Jim was an extremely talented man, not only in the court room, but he was a fabulous man on the Bar B Q grill! When Jim and Kathy, along with other good friends came to our home in North Carolina for dinner a few years ago, the electricity went out. Jim did not miss a beat; he cooked the tenderloin on our grill, with the use of a flash light! Jim was a kind and generous man. He will be missed by many people, including us. Best, Linda

Great Judge, he ran the most efficient courtroom I ever worked in. I used to tell him that he needed to train every new Judge before they took the bench.
