Walter Hayne Obituary

HAYNE, WALTER, The Lord called Walter Hayne home on January 10, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Walter was born in Yonkers, NY, December 30, 1929 to Walter Hebert and Ruth Hayne. He attended Roosevelt High School and later joined the United States Armed Forces. He was honorably discharged in 1949. Walter met his soul mate, Helen Marie White from Tuckahoe, NY, and they were married September 27, 1952. That union lasted 54 years and produced two children. Walter worked for the New York City Transit Authority for 33 years and retired in 1986. The Illustrious Brother Walter Hayne was a member of Triangle Lodge #14. Past Master Walter Hayne was raised to Master Mason Degree in September 1982. He also went on to become a 33rd Degree Mason and Shrlner. Walter's family meant everything to him. Family cookouts and gatherings were common place at the Hayne household. He was also an
avid card player and would play with various family and friends for many hours. Walter knew the Lord early and accepted him into his life. He was an active member of Community Baptist Church in Jamaica, NY, and was a member of the Male Choir. After relocating to Florida, he continued serving the Lord at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Kissimmee, FL where he was involved with the annual back to school program as well as a member of the Male Choir. Walter was predeceased by his wife, Helen Marie, and his sisters, Juanita Hayne and Henrietta Green. Walter leaves to mourn his daughters, Debra Danielsen of Queens, NY, and Phyllis Thompson of Kissimmee, FL; Arthur Hayne, his very special son of St. Paul, MN; his four grandchildren, Raymond Danielsen, Rodney Danielsen, Jasmine Lyle and Taylor Thompson; three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Pedro and Bryanna; his sisters, Ruth George of Brooklyn, NY and Herberta Hayne of Yonkers, NY; his brother-in-law Ronald White of NY; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation for family and friends wIll be held at 6-8PM on Friday, January 16, 2009. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, January 17, 2009. Both services will be held at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 604 N. John Young Parkway, Kissimmee, FL. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Kissimmee. Marvin C.
