Warren Edwards

Edwards, Warren Warren Hardin Edwards, 98 of Greenwood, Florida died on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida. Born Wednesday, May 31, 1916 in Orlando, Florida, he was the son of the late Dr. Gaston Edwards and the late Adair Dunn Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a retired United States Marine Corps Colonel. He served in WWII with the 1st Marine Division in Guadalcanal. In 1939 he graduated from Washington and Lee University where he was an active member of the Kappa Alpha Order. After the war, In 1947 he graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Law. He served first as Orange County solicitor and then was presiding judge of the Criminal Court of Orlando until 1972 when he moved to Bonifay, FL. In the mid 1990's he retired as a Circuit Judge of the 14th District Court, State of Florida. He served as Vice President of Kiwanis International and provided over 50 years of dedicated community service with the Kiwanis Club of Florida. He is preceded in death by a brother, Dr. George Edwards, sister Mary Adair Phifer and son Warren Hardin Edwards, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Janie Tussing Edwards; two daughters, Sabrina Edwards Porter and Stacey Edwards Palmer ; 2 grandsons, Warren Hardin Edwards III , Dillon Edwards ;3 great grand children. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Edward's residence in Greenwood, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your choice of charity.
