My memory is he took me to Washington DC for an adventure of a lifetime. He was quiet, methodical and brilliant with his political acumen. I often reminisce about my time with Bill. He was a great mentor and a great friend. This was in 1969. We all were roommates, Bill Murfin, Harry Dent, Bob Zegota and Bill's son. Bob.

Bill took me to DC to work for the SBA. In reality I was a runner from the Capital to the White House. Our close friend was Harry Dent who had served as chairman of the Republican party in South Carolina. He was the President,s political advisor. He also developed the Southern Stratagy that altered the whole south into a viable area for conservative beliefs. I was the statistician. Funny how a national change was defined on a kitchen table. Bill Murfin gave me one of the BEST experiences of my life. I will always love him in my memories. He was statue of a man and a dear friend.
