Judith Davis Memoriam

Judith Ann "Judy" Davis - Born November 28, 1935, she passed away peacefully on October 31, 2021.
Judy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Ceathus "Dusty" and Katherine Rhoades; her maternal grandparents immigrated to Hawaii in the 1880's from Germany, meeting later on Oahu, settling there and raising nine children, including Judy's mother Katherine. Judy is pre-deceased by her husband of 56 years, William "Bill" Davis whom she married in 1961, and her younger sister Dorothy "Dotty" Samargya.
She is survived by her sister Alice and brother William "Dusty" Rhoades (Gale), and four children Paul (Martha), Darcy Kemp (David), Aaron (Sylvia), and Joel (Erin), and her beloved grandchildren Nick, Cole, Jake, Sydney, Zac, Matt, Seth, Maddy, Lyra, and Cullen.
After graduating from Roosevelt High School in Honolulu, she went on to earn her bachelors degree in Education from the George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville. She then moved to Kissimmee and began her 40+ year career as a teacher in Osceola County Schools; most of them at Highlands Elementary and Denn John Middle schools. Judy loved to teach creative writing and used it to encourage students of all races, creeds, and colors, always seeing the best qualities in her students. Through the years she gave countless presentations to students of all ages about her witnessing the bombing of Pearl Harbor when she was a young child, and what it was like to live in Honolulu in its aftermath.
A small private funeral Mass will be held December 10 in Greensboro, NC, where she has lived for the past 5 years, most recently at Brookdale Lawndale Park Memory Care.
The family requests that those who knew and loved Judy as we did please make a contribution in her name to the Education Foundation of Osceola County (https://www.foundationosceola.org).

Mrs Davis was my son's 5th grade teacher. My son was part of a creative writing project" Angel in Disguise". I saved it and just came across her name and found that she had passed away. May she rest in peace. God bless her
