Thelma Bryan Memoriam

Thelma M. Bryan 101 years old, formerly of St. Cloud, Fla., passed away peacefully at an Assisted Living facility in Chandler, Ariz. on October 22. Her son Dave, who lived nearby, was with her when she passed.
Thelma was born in Ladysmith, Wis. March 17, 1924 to John and Lydia Boldon. The family moved throughout the midwest during her early years following her fathers' career as a pastor in Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois.
Thelma married William Bryan in Illinois in 1948 and they remained together until Bills' death in 2005. The couple had two children; Bill and Dave. While in Illinois, Thelma was an elementary school teacher for almost 20 years. Bill and Thelma moved to Saint Cloud in 1980.
Thelma continued as an elementary school teacher for several years in the 1980s in the Saint Cloud school district. Almost all of this time was with second graders, seven and eight year olds. Teaching these children was always a great joy for her as many students stayed in touch with after she retired in 1987. She moved to Arizona in 2012 to be closer to her son.
Thelma was proud to be a charter member of the Canoe Creek Christian Church in Saint Cloud. Her life as a christian always sustained her even in trying times.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Bill, son Bill and siblings Louise, J. Leroy and Lois. She is survived by son Dave, grandchildren Maggie and Andrew in Illinois, sister in law Claudia Boldon in Saint Cloud, and several nieces and nephews around the country.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Osceola Memory Gardens Memorial Home, 2000 13th Street, St. Cloud, Fla. 34769.
