It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Myrtle Ann Halpin, loving and devoted wife and mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on Saturday, May 8, 2021 after a brave battle with cancer. She left us peacefully at home in Whittemore surrounded by her family.
She was the loving wife of Dale Halpin for 53 years and devoted mother to Tammie Halpin and Teresa Vulcano (Tony Vulcano). Ann was the cherished grandmother to Blaine Gaunt, Christian Newman-Faulkner, Gabrielle Hammonds, Kaleb Hammonds, Dominic Vulcano, Faith Vulcano, and adored by her great granddaughter, Kara Gaunt. Lighting up her life were her "adopted" children, Karen and Evan Orban and Jodi Jordan. She will be missed by her mother, Lois Lunsford, and reunited in heaven with her father, Howard Lunsford.
Ann was a dedicated wife whose deep love for her husband began in 1968 and continued until her last breath. She treasured her daughters and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She was our prayer warrior in times of strife, our counselor for heartache or decision making, our inspiration to always be kind and loving, and instilled in each of us a belief in God that cannot be broken.
Her love for God was shared with all who had the privilege of meeting her, whether in conversation or by her daily example of a Christian woman. Until her health condition made it impossible, Ann was active in her church, In His Presence Hale Assembly of God, working with many ministries. She was instrumental in creating and singing in the Praise Team and coordinated women's ministry meetings.
Ann was a Proverbs 31 woman: A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the day to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
