Amie Lee Obituary

Amie Sue (Binder) Lee passed suddenly at her home in Black Wolf, WI, early Monday morning on 14-Jul-2025. She was born on 26-Sep-1963 in Oshkosh, WI to Jim and Germaine Binder. Amie graduated from Lourdes High School and immediately attended Fox Valley Tech in Oshkosh where she met her husband and soul mate, Mark. After a few years together, they were married in Hawaii in 1994, where they lived for 3 years before moving back to Black Wolf.

Her father being a Firefighter / First Responder for the City of Oshkosh was instilled in Amie from the beginning. She joined Van Dyne Fire & Rescue as a Firefighter / EMS First Responder in 2011. She was promoted to Safety Officer shortly after. She was known to be quite the prankster at the Fire Department and kept everybody smiling. She also held her own with the boys at many fires and accident scenes. Amie was involved in many other volunteer activities including the EAA Medical Team for 11 years and the Lifefest Medical Team for 10 years. All of the members of both of those teams and her Fire Department brothers and sisters will miss her dearly.

Amie worked as an Accountant for Vehlo, a web-based Automotive financial solutions company where she was loved by her co-workers and known to shake things up to get things moving and 'get 'er done'. Over 20 personal letters were sent to Amie's family from Vehlo praising her kindness, friendship, and gratefulness to have known her.

Amie is survived by her husband Mark, sister Linda Schneider (Duke) in Las Vegas, brother Randy Binder (Peggy) in Florida, son in law Brian Lee (Colorado), brother in law Greg (Donna) in Mequon, brother in law Colin (Mary) in Oshkosh and sister in law Joneen in Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Germaine Binder, brother Greg Binder, brother-in-law Duke Schneider, brother in law Brian Lee, sister in law Barbra Domke, and brother in law Perry Lee. Amie leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and her two fur babies, Shelby and Koa.

Amie was an affectionate, dedicated, and hardworking individual who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She was an animal lover and known for her compassionate nature, giving spirit, and witty sense of humor. Amie was a devout Catholic, and was very close to God on a daily basis. She touched many hearts and will be missed by all that knew her.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th from 5pm to 7pm at Fiss & Bill's Poklasny funeral home on the corner of 9th and Westhaven in Oshkosh. A short Celebration of Life service will be held at 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, we're sure Amie would appreciate a donation to a local Animal Shelter in her name.

The family would like to thank the Van Dyne Fire Department and Oshkosh Fire Department for their quick response and efforts to save Amie.
