Gregg A. Fredrickson, age 64, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on April 3, 2023. Gregg was born on March 10, 1959, in Green Bay to Gene (Beaner) Fredrickson and Judith Fredrickson (Larsen). Gregg grew up in
Butte des Morts, WI and attended Winneconne High School, class of 1977. After high school, Gregg attended Fox Valley Tech and received his degree in Fire Science. He was a firefighter for the City of Green Bay from March 1, 1982 to June 4, 2012, retiring as a Station 2 Captain. Serving the City of Green Bay as a firefighter and a paramedic was one of the great joys of Gregg's life. In his time as a paramedic, he worked every Packer game he could. After his retirement from the Fire Department, Gregg went on to work for Fort Fremont Marine for the next ten years. Gregg thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent at Fort Fremont and valued the camaraderie he found among the people with whom he worked. On January 2, 2001, he married Kathy Bosveld and inherited a daughter, Krystal Bosveld. Gregg and Kathy shared 22 years of marriage and a love for traveling, boating, winter adventuring, and celebrating life together. Gregg was an avid downhill skier and particularly loved skiing Lake Tahoe and the U.P. He owned many Harley Davidsons and snowmobiles, but his true passion was boating throughout the Great Lakes and the North Channel. From the time the boat went in the water in May until the moment it was pulled, no other summer activity mattered. Boating season was Gregg's religion and the water was his church. Gregg never passed up a good time. He loved to cook, appreciated good music, and enjoyed a well made cocktail. He loved to play cribbage, was quick with a joke, and had the best, thunderous laugh. No matter what he was doing, he always had a black lab by his side. Above all else, Gregg was generous. He would do anything for his family and friends and never hesitated to lend a hand where one was needed. Gregg was a loving husband and father, and a loyal friend to all those who had the privilege to know him. He will be missed.
Gregg is preceded in death by his father Beaner, his brother Drake Larsen, his best friend Tiger Atkinson, and his three black labs, Mick, Budd, and Hank. He is survived by his Mother Judy (Gary) Larsen, his wife Kathy Fredrickson, his daughter Krystal Bosveld, his brother Jon (Vickie) Fredrickson, his sister Barb (Dave) Schleivy, his sister Inga (Rick) Back, nephews Andrew and Joe Fredrickson, Nickolaus and Thomas Back, nieces Kylie (Ken) Levake and Clara Back, his mother and father-in-law, Margie and Dennis Luker, and many life-long friends.
There will be a celebration of life for Gregg on May 13, 2023, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm, in the Windsor Room at The Rock Garden/Comfort Suites, 1951 Bond St.,
Green Bay, WI 54303.
"I'm glad I didn't know, The way it all would end, The way it all would go. Our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain, But I'd have had to miss the dance." Garth Brooks
