Arlene Strecker Obituary

Mrs. Strecker died Sunday morning, Sept. 3, 2006, at her residence, age 83 years.

She was born the daughter of the late Rudolph and Martha (Schlicker) Warmbier Oct. 5, 1922 in Williams Twp. and had resided in this area all her life. She was active with the Girl Scouts, worked and retired from Dow Chemical Co., a member of Trinity Lutheran Church (Monitor), enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, camping, fishing and traveling.

On March 25, 1943, she married Jacob Strecker Jr.; he predeceased her on Dec. 13, 2003. She is survived by 4 children: Jacob R. Strecker and Judy Waters, South Lyon, Martha M. (Wallace) Wachob, Bradenton, Fla., John H. Strecker, Colorado Springs, Colo., Sandra (Dave) Peruski, Auburn, 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Gertrude Warmbier.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Monitor (Salzburg & 8 Mile roads.) Rev. David F. Sherry will officiate with burial to follow in Home Cemetery, Monitor Twp. Arlene's family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes Inc. on Tuesday from 2 - 8 p.m. On Wednesday morning, Arlene will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Those planning an expression of sympathy, envelopes for " A time to build" Trinity Lutheran Church (Monitor) Expansion Fund, Bay Visiting Nurse and Hospice or the donor's favorite charity will be available at the funeral home. Arlene's family would like to thank the staff of the Colonnades and Bay Visiting Nurse and Hospice for the love and care they gave Arlene.
