Betty Kisser Obituary

Betty Kisser
Betty Jane (Gotham) (Stickle) Kisser, 94, of Midland, passed on September 5, 2023, with family by her side. She was born on August 23, 1929, in Midland, Michigan; the daughter of Lawrence (Jack) and Anna (Federer) Gotham.
Betty was a single mom, raising her sons with the assistance of her parents, while working for Judge Rood and Judge Gillespie for many years at the Midland County Courthouse. She was able to do all this and still made it to all their YMCA Swim Meets and all their High School Home Swim Meets as well.
Betty met and later married Art Kisser on September 20, 1980. They enjoyed many years together, traveling to various places and made a home for themselves and their blended family. They spent hours and hours playing cards, canning the vegetables from the garden, and gathering with family and friends. Her favorite places to travel were the Smoky Mountains, and almost any beach on the Gulf of Mexico, even though she rarely put her feet in the water. They were blessed to have taken many annual family trips to the mountains and/or the ocean.
Betty was known for her love of flower gardening, knitting, reading, and playing cards with family and friends. She also cooked some of the best meals for her family and had them over for dinner on Sundays and Holidays.
Betty is survived by her sons William Stickle and James Stickle (Kathleen Klann); her daughter Karen (Kisser) Holcomb; her grandchildren Carrie (Lester) Kirchner, Sherrie (Lucas) Schneider, Jodi Klann, and Adam (Kelly) Klann; her great-grandchildren Henry Grant and Cole Kirchner, Mazie Schneider, and Remi Klann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Art Kisser, her son-in-law Ivan Holcomb, and her sister Shirley Drew.
The family would like to thank Chona, First State Hospice Care, and Stratford Arms Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, for their aid and support in allowing the family to spend more time with Mom, Grandma Betty.
The family will receive visitors at Betty's home on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 3pm until 5pm.
Memorials in Betty's name may be made to the organization of the donor's choice.
All of us at Ware Smith Woolever are honored the Kisser family has entrusted us with the care of their loved one.
